Laissez les bon temps rouler! 🎭✨
At The Salty Blonde & Company, we love celebrating Fat Tuesday before the Lenten season begins. Mardi Gras is all about indulgence—good food, good company, and a little something sweet before the season of reflection and simplicity.
One of our favorite traditions is enjoying beignets, those pillowy, sugar-dusted treats that instantly transport you to the lively streets of New Orleans. But instead of deep-frying, we’re keeping it simple (and a little lighter!) by making these in the air fryer—with a secret ingredient: Greek yogurt!
This easy air fryer beignet recipe gives you all the flavor and fluffiness you crave with way less mess, making it perfect for a quick and festive Fat Tuesday treat.
Easy Air Fryer Beignets Recipe
Ingredients:
¾ cup Greek yogurt
1 cup self-rising flour
1 tsp baking powder
1 tsp vanilla extract
1½ tbsp sugar (plus extra for dipping)
4 tbsp melted butter
Directions:
In a mixing bowl, combine Greek yogurt, vanilla extract, sugar, baking powder, and flour until a dough forms.
Roll out the dough to about 2 inches thick and cut into squares.
Place the dough squares on a tray and let them rest for about 15 minutes.
Brush each beignet with melted butter for a golden, crispy texture.
Air fry at 350°F for 7 minutes, then flip and air fry for another 7 minutes until golden and puffy.
Remove from the air fryer and immediately roll in sugar for that classic sweet crunch.
Enjoy warm and let the good times roll! 🎉
